In this webinar, we will look at the plug-in utilities, where to find them, what are they useful for, how to install and use them. We will present some of the free-of-charge plug-ins that can facilitate the creation of a model, avoid repetitive tasks and enhance Abaqus/CAE. Many add-on tools are available to help the user with pre-processing and post-processing tasks such as creating a 3D model from an axisymmetric model, automatically generating honeycomb structure, bolts or nuts, saving display groups or user defined field outputs. We will also present the advanced capabilities of two plug-ins developed by the SIMULIA Southern region office: the Welding Interface and the Composite Filament Winding.
Using Abaqus Scripting Interface and Abaqus GUI Toolkit commands, add-on tools and plug-ins extend the capabilities of Abaqus/CAE and customise the software for specific needs. Abaqus extensions include custom applications that integrate solutions from Alliance Partners such as the knee simulator, the composites modeller or the crash dummy model as well as plug-in utilities developed by SIMULIA regional offices, partners or users.
