Modeling Fracture and Failure with Abaqus Training Course

The perfect training to predict crack growth and material damage using XFEM and VCCT

Modeling Fracture and Failure with Abaqus Training Course

Who should attend

This course is recommended for experienced Abaqus users who wish to become more proficient with Fracture and Failure techniques in Abaqus.

The course will continue at a minimum nr. of 3 persons. If the amount is less, Simuleon has the right to propose another month to have the training, or to suggest a company specific training instead.

If you are a beginning Abaqus user, you might want to consider following any of the introduction courses.

This is what our customers experienced:

“With this training we were able to apply the correct failure method which fit our challenges”

Course Objective

This course provides modeling techniques for capturing crack-tip singularities in fractrue mechanics problems. You will be able to create appropriate meshes for fracture studies, and calculate stress intensity factors and contour integrals around a crack tip. You will simulate material damage and failure and simulate crack growth using cohesige behaviour, XFEM and VCCT.

The course is divided into lectures, demonstrations and workshops
