February’s webinar will cover an introduction to Abaqus scripting. In this webinar, we will look at writing scripts and creating simple plug-ins using the tools provided by Abaqus: the replay file will help you to write a new script from scratch, the macro manager will help to organise your tasks, and the RSG toolkit will help you to customise the user interface and add new functionalities.
Learning a new language can be easy. Python is an object oriented language which means it uses classes, objects than communicate with each other, members, methods, exceptions, etc. Learning the structure of Python quickly becomes complicated. So, why not forget about what Python is and focus on what you can do with it. Abaqus uses an extension to the Python language called the Abaqus Scripting Interface. It contains all the commands you need to customize Abaqus/CAE and create automatic pre-processing or post-processing programs. But there is no need to learn this long list of commands. Abaqus offers tools to help you to develop your scripts. You just need to remember 2 or 3 tricks and you are ready.
