In this webinar we will look at three of these modelling techniques; SPH (Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics), CEL (Coupled Eulerian Lagrangian) and DEM (Discrete Element Modelling). For each technique the webinar will walk through how they are implemented in Abaqus and consider practical examples demonstrating when each technique is most appropriate.
As well as the traditional Lagrangian elements that FE users will be familiar with, Abaqus is supplied with an additional suite of elements that can be broadly grouped under the title of ‘meshless methods’. These alternative discretisation techniques allow the capabilities of Abaqus to be extended to include problems where gross distortion or material flow can be represented in a way that traditional elements may not allow.
Example applications where these techniques might be appropriate include fluid flow, fluid-structure interaction, super-plastic forming and granular material handling simulations. This capability is available without the need for extended tokens and therefore may be of interest to anyone already familiar with Abaqus.
The Meshless Methods in Abaqus is a paid online training for existing customers. Other companies can sign up and receive a free webinar once. The costs for 10 Online Webinar Training Sessions during the year are EUR 1.175,00.
The link for the online event will be sent just one week before the actual date so if you register, please note it in your agenda already.
